The grapes for this wine were primarily estate grown by Valley View and Stepping Stone Vineyards. Even though 2015 was a relatively “cool” vintage, the grapes were cropped to low yields and made it to full ripeness in late October. The grapes were fermented warm in small tanks and punched down twice daily, then pressed and racked to small French oak barrels where they aged for one year. The wine was blended with 10% estate grown Cabernet Sauvignon for added complexity. This is an excellent Merlot featuring ripe flavor of cherries, blackberries and a touch of herbs on the very long finish. It is close to peak enjoyment and can be enjoyed well into 2025.
